Rain With A Side Of Memories

Hearing the droplets hit the ground
Comforting
Smelling the fresh water as it falls
Relaxing
It's raining outside
Now 3:00am
The windows are left open
Causing full effect
The breeze sends a memorable chill
Down my spine
The kind you get
When falling in love
I think of him
And the years gone by
The Oregon weather
Always did remind me of him
Yes, part of the reason I like it here
So very much
Only moments have passed
Since we last spoke
On the phone
Yet it feels like
Forever
The shuffling in my mind
Causes memories to stir
Always cause and effect
We met
Fell in love
Hid our feelings
Became true friends
And are now
Betrothed
I shake my head and smile
Silly us
We saw it coming
Just like the rain
